Please Consider Making a Donation

In 2023 the show made a five-figure loss, against a reasonable surplus in the previous year. This was despite our first increase in admission prices for over a decade. Some examples of increases in our essentials since our 2019 pre-covid show, all costing us five-figure sums:

  • Coal for steam exhibits: 56%
  • Security and traffic management: 36%
  • Toilet hire and waste disposal: 45%

We previously used the surplus to build a “wet weather” fund, without which we would not be able to put on a show at all in 2024. But if costs continue to increase the long term future of the show will be in jeopardy. Other shows have folded.

We supply facilities to the show participants who stay on site, but unlike other shows on a similar scale, we have never charged those that contribute to the success of the show. To secure the long-term future of the show, and to help with the preservation of our industrial and transport heritage, we ask you to consider making a donation.

Car sections reorganised for 2024

The car sections have been reorganised for the 2024 show. This will ensure that the numbers are spread more evenly between them plus make them more easily identifiable to exhibitors when entering. The car sections will be:

  • Veteran Vintage & Pre-War Cars to 1945
  • Post War Cars 1946 to 1969
  • Classic Cars 1970 to 1990
  • American Cars (Historic Tax Class)
  • Car Club Displays & Private Collections

There are also some changes to section leaders:

  • American Cars (Historic Tax Class) – new section leader is Steve Virgo
  • Ex Emergency Vehicles – new section leader is Linden Harris
